Unmissable Outdoor Culinary Adventures For Gourmands In Jaipur

As the punishing heat of a Jaipur summer slips gently into the balmy clime of a breezy autumn, it’s the season for the locals to step out of air-conditioned rooms and enjoy the outdoor pleasures of this heritage city.

While sightseeing and shopping becomes more bearable for travellers in the run-up to the winter months, immerse yourself in the hedonistic pleasures of rooftop dining and wining, nightclubbing and disco dancing the night away— age no bar.

Here’s a quick reckoner for some of the most popular outdoor restaurants and bars around town, for leisurely lunches and dinners with friends and family, after your business meetings and conferences are done with.

Bar Palladio

Located in the beautiful Narian Niwas Palace Hotel, a heritage hotel awash with verdant expanses, Bar Palladio is one of the most popular spots with the high-stepping locals for an outdoor culinary adventure. The ambience and the superb décor, a soothing palette of blues designed by Marie-Anne Oudejans, set the tone for a classic Italian meal to be savoured with delight with each bite. Kick back and enjoy a leisurely glass of prosecco watching the resident peacocks wandering amongst the tented canopies in the dappled sunlight under the branches of the spreading mango trees. Loyal patrons recommend the Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Peperoncino with their signature Marina Rossa.

TaBlu

Locals swear by the giddy vibe of this favourite watering hole in town and to spend a night bathed in the light of the moon and a spangle of stars. Located in the Hotel Clarks Amer, TaBlu, the oldest rooftop bar in the city, keeps the crowds piling in till well past midnight. Live bands, good food and drinks keep the high-octane spirit of TaBlu in fine fettle till the last guest leaves. For years now, TaBlu has been the go-to place for the best local and international music events in the city.

Forresta Kitchen & Bar

Another highly rated favourite amongst local patrons, it has decided to up the ante with its spanking new The Forresta Terrace Level— Just perfect for meals under a starry Jaipur sky. Located in Devraj Niwas, MI Road in the Bani Park area, it has a well-stocked bar offering a tempting array of prized drinks, cocktails and mocktails to swing you into a merry mood. There is no lack of alluring features on the palate-stirring menu. Highly recommended are the array of pizzas, pastas, spaghetti & meatballs sushi and plenty more.

Rosado Luxury Lounge and Kitchen

The rooftop restaurant, spread across 35,000 sq ft, very quickly became a landmark in Jaipur’s lively nightlife. Describing itself as “The Tallest-Biggest-Sexiest luxury lounge and kitchen in Jaipur is the vibe like nothing else” the brain child of owners Varun and Tarun Behl hit the high notes with its laser lights, live music and good food served as the perfect accompaniment for a night on the tiles. “We have created a phenomenal culinary and lifestyle experience for our guests. An international menu, sweeping skyline vistas and impeccable service are what our guests will be treated to at Rosado,” gushes Tarun Behl. The spacious hub, located in the Mall of Jaipur, Vaishali Nagar, doubles as a nice spot for events and family gatherings as well.

Ohana – Cocktail Bar and Kitchen

Another grand space in the Jaipur skyline in the lively Malviya Nagar, Ohana is claimed to be the largest of open-air bars in Asia with both indoor and outdoor spaces. ‘Ohana’ which means ‘family’ in the Hawaiian language adopts its patrons with all the warmth and hospitality one reserves for nears and dears

Celebrating the spirit of togetherness Ohana is spread across 37,000 sq ft of party spaces, split into five spaces, each with its own distinctive vibe – Sky Bar, Alfresco Bar, Tipsy the Shots Room, the Club (indoor nightclub) and the family indoor dining area. The menu at this grand rooftop space features everything from pan-Asian delicacies to continental delights, delectable Indian favourites and yummy Mexican and Italian fare.  The lively cocktail culture keeps its mixologists in a creative buzz as they churn out handcrafted cocktails, incorporating fresh ingredients, premium spirits, and innovative techniques. The dining area offers great views of the Aravalli range. Its cheery fusion dishes have gone down well with the burgeoning clientele who loves its spacious ambience.

The Pink City has embraced the contemporary hustle of wining and dining in style, while staying true to its roots. It’s one of the most charming things about this historic city which will always remain one of India’s favourite destinations.
